According to the Austrian Transport Association (AÏSO), Vienna will implement a new and surprising ban for lorries over 7.5 tonnes from 2021: the ban on turning right. This restriction will apply to vehicles that do not have a diversion assistant.

The project to be carried out in the Austrian capital has already been sent to the European Union and, unless Brussels raises any objections, the new rules will enter into force in April 2020. However, there will be a transition period until the end of the year.

Therefore, for transport companies operating in Vienna, it will be obligatory for vehicles sent to the Austrian country to have such a device, since if they do not comply with the regulations they may be fined. These diversion assistants use acoustic and visual signals to warn the driver of a dangerous situation
